With vast stretches of orange groves and sandy beaches to explore, Los Montesinos is ian ideal holiday destination. Originally an agricultural town, the expanding tourist industry is now the town's main focus, although it still maintains all its original Spanish charm.

La Herrada is located in the village of Los Montesinos, where facilities include 3 banks, a public swimming pool, supermarkets, pharmacy, a great variety of bars and restaurants including English, Spanish and Italian. They are all within a leisurely 20 minute stroll.

Less than 5 minute walk from the villa we also have the newly built supermarket SUPERVALU. There are also a small number new bars/restaurants opening, still far enough away for a peaceful stay, yet near enough for your pleasure.

There are numerous safe play areas on site for the children, and for the energetic ones there is even a full equipped outdoor keep fit circuit 2 minutes walk from the villa.

Los Montesinos has a market on a Friday afternoon. A good site to take a look at is: www.infocostablanca.com which will give you information on everything from, tourist attractions, sports activities, beaches and local festivals which take place throughout the year.

LOCAL AREA

Los Montesinos lies between Torrevieja and Guardamar, and is close to the salt lakes - which are great for walks and bird watching. throughout the year.

Guardamar beach a just 10 minute drive away and has the Blue European Flag denoting excellent beach standards and lifeguards.

Guardamar itself is a traditional Spanish town with plenty of bars and restaurants. Visits to the Guardamar castle & sand dunes where you can ride camels. Guardamar is a lively place in the Summer months, fabulous day and night time markets, wonderful children's fun fair and bull fighting too.

Santa Pola - Castle of Santa Pola, salt museum,Tower of Tamarit, Rio Safari Park(Elche) where you can visit the reptiles, birds,crocodiles and have camel rides, while enjoying the nature of 4.000 adult palm trees.

Torrevieja - Visits to the Moor Tower (Torre del Moro), La Mata and Torrevieja's natural lake parks, Salinas - The Salt Lakes and Museum of the The Sea and Salt. Lovely restaurants, bars and shops all kept cool for your comfort.

GOLF

Within 10 minutes drive there are Villamartin, Las Ramblas, Campoamor and La Finca - 4 excellent golf courses - all with lovely bars and restaurants
